JuryPlace rclone

Personal infrastructure · Backup information

A second home for personal server backups.

JuryPlace rclone is a private utility being configured to copy completed application backups from the JuryPlace server to its administrator’s Google Drive.

This website is informational only. It does not provide a login, accept uploads, or expose backup files or server administration tools.

What the utility does

The intended workflow uses rclone to transfer completed backups to the administrator’s own Google account, check transfers, and retrieve files when a restore is needed. Backup scheduling, retention and encryption are configured separately on the server.

Why Google authorization is needed

The utility needs permission to create and manage its backup files in Google Drive. The intended permission is drive.file, covering files created by the application or explicitly opened with it, rather than unrestricted access to the entire Drive. The Google consent screen shows the permissions actually requested; the administrator should review them before approving.

Authorization does not by itself enable encryption or start backups. Client-side encryption with rclone crypt is planned and must be configured and tested before relying on it.
